CLOSED 5/11 – 5/18

Due to scheduling conflicts, the Orlando Speedworld – Oval Track will be closed on Friday May 11, 2012 and Friday May 18, 2012.

The Bright House Challenge Series – Super Late Model race that was originally scheduled for Friday May 18, 2012 has been rescheduled for Saturday July 14, 2012 and has been moved to the New Smyrna Speedway.

SPORTSMAN 50 RESCHEDULED!

The Sportsman 50 that fell victim to mother nature on April 20th has been rescheduled for Friday June 1, 2012.

McLEOD TOPS PRO LATE MODELS 100:

(Orlando, Florida – 4/13/12) It’s often said that Friday 13^th can make racers do strange things out on the track, but at Orlando Speedworld it seemed to bring out the best in the drivers as they put on a great show across 7 senior divisions and treated the fans to some great racing. CLOUSER TOPS BRIGHT HOUSE CHALLENGE SERIES 100

The third week of the racing season at Orlando Speedworld saw the Bright House Challenge Series for Super Late Models come to town for the first in this season’s series, which will combine the points from both FASCAR tracks in crowning its champion. A full field of regular weekly divisions made this a bumper night of racing for the fans that were enjoying the unseasonally warm evening in the grandstands.

Afternoon qualifying had seen local favorite #9 Rich Clouser set the fastest time but the surprise of the qualifying session was the 3rd fastest time set by #17 Ken Lilley Jr, the teenager in his second season of SLM racing after graduating up from the Pro-Trucks. Another surprise was in store when the draw for the inversion put Lilley on pole alongside #11 Dave Rogers, with Clouser and #10 Brad May behind. The third row would contain #77 Jeff Scofield and #92 Dalton Zehr, the latest driver to take a seat in the legendary Dickie Anderson machine. READ MORE
